Lindsey and Shaun – Orchid Island

Lindsay and Shaun were married May 19th at Orchid Island Club in what ended up being one of the prettiest weddings we’ve ever laid eyes upon.

The bride and groom could easily be runway models and the family is equally lovely, but more importantly, Lindsey and Shaun were kind, gracious and genuine.  The whole planning process came together beautifully and with total ease, despite long distance planning (they live in Michigan).  Congratulations, guys!

Enjoy the photos below, compliments of Vitalic Photography in Sebastian. Click here for their full post.

Lindsey’s dress was effortlessly chic, from the simple lines to the detailed waist to the pockets! I don’t know any lady who doesn’t love a dress with pockets.

The bride carried a traditional, Euro-style nosegay featuring dusty pink garden roses, peonies in white and blush, viburnum, billy balls, limoncello spray roses and dusty miller.  We also added some beautiful foliages from Ann’s garden, which continued the gardeny, organic palette.

The bride and groom both had one attendant, Lindsey’s being her sister, who wore cream lace. She carried a nosegay similar in style, but with more vibrant shades of pink and yellow.  Lindsey’s mother carried a petite nosegay.  Swoon!

Mercury glass accents, provided by the bride and her mom, accompanied the florals and lent an old-world, rustic glow to the atmosphere.  Orchid Island is beautifully appointed on its own, and these flowers were so pretty in that setting.

The dinner tables were trimmed with mercury glass votives and lush centerpieces in pedestal glass compotes.  To us, a pedestal glass vase has the same effect on flowers as the perfect high-heel has on one’s legs — it elongates!  Tables were covered in custom linen, our favorite for summer weddings, white hemstitch.

The place cards were perched atop wheatgrass flats, the club’s reflecting pool as backdrop.  Inside the dining room, table numbers mimicked the place card set-up, perched in wheatgrass-filled mercury glass pots.

A close up shows more of the floral palette, including sweet peas, tuberose, porcelina sprays, parrot tulips, garden roses, dusty miller, fiddlehead fern and coffee foliages (from Ann’s garden).

We assisted this couple with linen as well as florals, decor and styling.  For more information about Thallo’s custom, boutique wedding services, please email Sara and Ann at thallodesign@aol.com.

Chrissy - Such a nice post about their wedding, thanks for featuring it. It was hands down some of the prettiest wedding flowers we’ve seen yet : ) thanks for doing such an awesome job Thallo!

Joann - The “very” pink garden roses in the bridal bouquet and centerpieces are gorgeous. What variety are they?
